World Chocolate Masters

For 10 years now Cacao Barry® has been organising the World Chocolate Masters competition for all artisans throughout the world. Making artistic pieces around a specific theme in an allotted time: that's the challenge proposed to these future talents!

The World Chocolate Masters competition helps Chefs to build their worldwide reputation, promoting the creative use of top quality products, displaying new technics to the world, surprising by trendy ingredients pairing, playing with textures and flavors. In a nutshell, innovating the chocolate category.

French Vincent Vallée is the new World Chocolate Master

Vincent Vallée from France was crowned World Chocolate Master in Paris. For the next three years he will wear the title of world’s best chocolate craftsman. 

“During the competition Vincent Vallée set a whole new standard for innovation and creativity,” says Jean-Michel Perruchon, president of the jury of renowned chefs and food specialists. “The title of World Chocolate Master is a tribute to the skill, ingenuity and vision he has shown during the final.”

Deal with Harrods

Vincent Vallée was crowned in Paris at le Salon du Chocolat. He wins a unique trip to a cocoa plantation. Furthermore, he gets the honour to display his competition creations at the Harrods department store in London for a world exclusive sale during the Valentine’s Day campaign (starting February 1st). A cheque of 5.000 Euros and 5.000 Euros worth of KitchenAid equipment will also come his way.

Runner-ups and Social Media Award

The silver and bronze medal went to Hisashi Onobayashi from Japan and Marijn Coertjens from Belgium. Diego Lozano from Brazil won the Social Media Award: his Showpiece got the most votes from the general public. They could vote for their favorite during the final. All winners take home beautiful prices provided by the sponsors of the World Chocolate Masters

My Or Noir Trophy

During the ceremony the coveted ‘My Or Noir™’-trophy, handed out by the separate Or Noir™ jury, was presented to Andrey Kanakin from Russia. He takes home 500 kilos of the signature chocolate he made.
