HISTORY
Tradition and central cult of the Maya, Toltec and Aztec civilisations. First country where commercial cocoa farming was introduced by the "conquistadors. In fact, Mexico enjoyed an advantageous position as a cocoa producer. Since then, neighbouring countries have gained in importance and Mexican cocoa production has declined. Since 1940 Mexico has experienced a revival. Production has increased from 2'000mt to 25'000mt.
