As part of Cacao Barry's® commitment to provide products that respect and protect the environment, we proudly announce our partnership with FSA verified for the Spanish hazelnuts used in our hazelnut pralines and pure hazelnut pastes. Unlike almonds, hazelnuts are pollinated by the wind, which distils the pollen from branch to branch, between the male and female flowers. As a result, hazelnuts are strongly influenced by their environment and by the current fragile balance of the environment, in which we all have a role to play. Our respect for nature's rhythms and biodiversity (fauna, flora, micro-organisms, etc.), by being fully aware of our impact, makes all the difference. For example, we know that hazelnuts require a lot of water, and only healthy and controlled management can make their cultivation respectful and sustainable. This is why Cacao Barry® asks its suppliers and farmers to undergo a regular audit that complies with the Farm Sustainability Assessment (FSA) of the SAI platform. The goal is to independently validate the farming practices and efforts towards sustainability and traceability of the hazelnut origin.
